Basis of equivalency of post-installed anchor systems
The topic of equivalency can often times be misinterpreted and misunderstood when it comes to post installed anchors. There are many parameters which govern the behaviors of post installed anchors which must be designed in a while to ensure connection safety to safeguard lives and assets. No two types of anchors are the same even when supplied by the same manufacturer. Each anchor may exhibit variations in load displacement behavior due to plating, sleeve dimensions, geometry and others. However, such parameters are accounted for in a standardized qualification framework known as European Technical Approval Guidelines (ETAG) 001. Under ETAG 001, there are tests and assessments conducted by independent third parties to determine the baseline resistance values. It also contains comprehensive details relevant for use in design. In this seminar, we will evaluate the basis of equivalency for post-installed anchors.
