Splitting Bond Strength on HRM

Dear Hilti,

I'm currently design Post Installed Rebar using Profis Rebar application and I have question on the calculation report :

  • On the section Controlling bond strength (formula : fbd,HRM = max(fbd,HRM1.0; fbd,HRM2.0)), why the larger number of bond strength is selected? Isn't it more conservative if we select the lower bond strength?
  • What does it mean by "bond strength calculated based on testing results database"?

Please kindly explain on question above. Thank you

Hi Mahayekti,

HRM1 method is used when we have Cd/Ø > 3 in order to take the advantage of the higher bond strength of the chemical and that is thereason when we select the HRM method it selects the higher value of bond

  • strength.

fbd,HRM = max(fbd,HRM1.0; fbd,HRM2.0))

  • "Bond strength calculated based on testing results database" it means the corresponding value is based on the Hilti internal test result.

You can refer to the attached graph for your reference.

Please reach out to us for any further clarification.
