RE-500 V3 Eurocode Embedment length

Would like to ask, the RE500 embedment length was calculated based on ACI 318-14. Where i can find the eurocode design for this?

Hi YH,

Thank you very much for your inquiry.

The provision for design of fastening in Eurocode is EN 1992-4 Eurocode 2 – Design of concrete structures – Part 4: Design of fastening for use in concrete.

In the verification of ultimate limit state, both tension and shear failure modes are checked for single fastener or group of fasteners to determine the minimum resistance against the resultant loads. The combined tension and shear loads effect is then checked for the qualification of the fastening.

The defined anchorage length of the fastener is checked through the verification process.

Regarding where to find a similar table of specifications for Rebar based on Eurocode, you can refer to the Technical Data Sheet of the Hilti HIT-RE500 V3 HERE. You will note that there are two kinds of technical data that are being presented.

First is based on Anchor design principle (EOTA TR029 & EOTA TR045) wherein you would note below that specifications / setting details is almost similar to what ACI318-14 Chapter 17 has presented:

Second is based on Rebar design (EN 1992-1). You can learn more about how to design based on this by watching this on-demand webinar HERE

We hope that we have answered your questions and we will look forward to any additional questions that you may have.
