Post installed rebar shape

Can we have an L shaped post installed rebar? say for example I need to tie in a top horizontal bar of new overlay to an existing layer of footing below?

any suggestions on tying the top flexure bar of overlaid concrete to the existing pile cap using adhesive anchoring?,anchorage length of interface shear dowels for monolithic action inside existing and new concrete

Hi Mahalakshmi,

The L-type of rebar can be installed in existing concrete to be used as shear connector to connect the new concrete. Only 1 side of the L shape rebar can be installed in the existing concrete while the other will be embedded in the new concrete. Please find attached the examples of the application.
