Firestop Solution for big electrical panels/boxes
Is there a potential solution for firestop to protect big electrical panels/boxes from smoke and fire, similar to CP 617 Firestop Putty pad?

Hi Konstantina,
The answer needs some more data from you. Usually we don’t come across with the usage of this product for very large boxes, so more details are needed.
Please let us know the type of wall and the dimensions of box to assist you better.
From a Ball-Park figure – we have the following details.
Our tested system W-L-7277 allows for:
- Steel box (18 ga. or heavier) with maximum dimensions of 510 mm wide x 1000 mm high x 125 mm thick.
- Hilti CP 617 (-L, -XL) firestop putty pad installed in one layer to cover the top, sides, and back of steel box for 1-hr.
- For 2-hr. conditions only, an additional layer of putty pad (two total layers) shall be installed on the back of the steel box.
