Aspect of Adhesive for Rebar Approval
What aspects of Adhesives are need to be assessed before a Rebar Approval?

Hi Jonnie, thank you for your question.
For approval of an adhesive for a rebar application, following aspects need to be considered:
- Strength of concrete.
- Bond strength of adhesive based on method of calculation used viz. EC2, Hilti Rebar Method etc.
- Rebar embedment depth and diameter of the drilled hole as per the adhesive approval.
- Condition of concrete/drilled hole viz. dry, wet and saturated etc.
- Criticality and load conditions on the connection.
- And most importantly, a design based on codes.
