Anchorage for rebar in existing and new concrete

Should the shear connectors be provided with full anchorage? Can someone share HILTI Rebar fastening manual B2.2?

Hi Mr. Mahalakshmi,

Thanks for contacting Hilti and showing trust in Hilti Products & Solutions.

Shear connectors when designed as per ACI 318-11 design standard, the rebars are designed for full anchorage depth which depends upon various factors like concrete strength, spacing and edge distances etc.

While the Rebar can be generally designed as an anchor with pure shear loading. Depending upon various factors like concrete strength, spacing and edge distances etc., the depths will vary as per the design standard followed for the calculations. Kindly find attached the Post installed Rebar guide as requested.

For any further details, please revert back.

Thanks for your reply. Are you referring to the application of concrete overlay with headed studs? Kindly find attached the document (in answer to the above question) with details of the application and the method of design. Hope the manual is useful to you.

Hi Karan, thanks for your reply.. however, I did refer this rebar guideline and this gives a detailed explanation for rebar anchors..how about the shear connectors like headed studs? I was able to find a couple of manuals like B2.3 and B2.5 on that but they refer to B2.2 manual too..can help share it or any other manual that discusses headed shear connectors and their embedment and design calculation? Thanks in advance..
